One Piece Anime's 2-Hour Nami Special to Air in August
Episode of Nami: Kōkaishi no Namida to Nakama no Kizuna to have all-new animation
Toei Animation announced on Monday that an all-new television anime special, One Piece Episode of Nami: Kōkaishi no Namida to Nakama no Kizuna (One Piece Episode of Nami: Tears of a Navigator and the Bonds of Friends), will air on Saturday, August 25 at 9:00 p.m. (The One Piece television anime series normally airs on Sunday mornings.)
The story segment about Nami's home village, which figures heavily in the One Piece television anime's ongoing Fishman Island arc, is recreated with all-new animation. Nami steals the Merry Go (Going Merry) pirate ship from Monkey D. Luffy and the rest of her shipmates and seemingly abandons them. Luffy and the others give chase and eventually track Nami to Cocoyasi Village (Coco Village).
Hirohiko Uesaka, the head writer of the television anime, is credited with the special's script, while the television anime's animation director Yukiko Nakatani designed the characters on the special.

#286 732

One Piece's Going Merry Ship Gets Its Own TV Special
Episode of Merry: Mō Hitori no Nakama no Monogatari to have all-new animation
Toei Animation announced on Monday that an all-new television anime special, One Piece Episode of Merry: Mō Hitori no Nakama no Monogatari (One Piece Episode of Merry: The Tale of One More Friend), will air on Saturday, August 24 at 9:00 p.m. (The One Piece television anime series normally airs on Sunday mornings.)
The story arcs aboard the Straw Hat Crew's first ship Going Merry (Merry Go in some adaptations) are recreated with brand-new animation, from Luffy and Usopp's fight and Robin's disappearance to the crew's final farewell to the ship. Going Merry is treated as another member of the Straw Hats as Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and the rest of the crew set sail for the legendary treasure, the One Piece.
The special will be airing almost exactly one year after the anime's previous One Piece Episode of Nami: Kōkaishi no Namida to Nakama no Kizuna special aired in 2012.

The title of this special episode will be the pre-timeskip “3D2Y: Overcome Ace’s Death. Luffy’s Vow to his Friends!,” and will retell the two year time period when Luffy trained on the Island of Rusukaina with Rayleigh.
In the episode, according to the One Piece website, Luffy rediscovers the importance of his crew mates after losing his brother, Ace, during the Paramount War at Marineford. He overcomes the grief in order to learn Haki, and undergoes a 2 year-long harsh training session with Rayleigh on the Island of Rusukaina.
During that time, one man’s appearance shakes the world. The man who escaped from Impel Down’s Level 6, Burndy World (バーンディ・ワールド), brings along his former crew mates and goes on to crush prominent pirates and marine battle ships, one after the other. The World Government hurriedly calls out for the Seven Warlords, but upon hearing that, Burndy World captures the Warlords, and makes up a plan using them as a means to lure in order to achieve his larger ambitions. World’s target is the person whom Luffy has a deep connection with: Boa Hancock. Might Hancock fall prey to the man who is also known as “The Destroyer of Worlds?” And what about Luffy?
Based on the comments given by the episode’s producer Hiroyuki Sakurada and Mr. Takaki, the episode, which will be on Fuji Television on Saturday, August 30 at 9:00 p.m., will shine light upon previously untold aspects of Luffy’s two years apart from his crew mates, focusing on such things as “training … acquiring Haki … the 3D2Y code” and more. “Luffy fighting for the sake of his friends and dreams will surely fire up the viewers and bring them ‘hope’.”
The episode will have the expected Luffy, Boa and Rayleigh, but also Mr 3, Buggy, Mihawk, Akainu, Perona and more. New villain Burndy World’s character design was created by creator Eiichirô Oda himself. “The end also features a must-see part for fans of the series, so don’t miss it!!”

Putain!

Additional information regarding the upcoming One Piece anime special, “3D2Y: Overcome Ace’s Death. Luffy’s Vow to his Friends!,“ has been revealed.
Burndy World, the antagonistfor the anime special, has been imprisoned in Impel Down for 30 years. In order to achieve his goals, Burndy plans to try and capture the Warlord Boa Hancock. As revealed earlier, Burndy was designed by Eiichirô Oda himself. He possesses the devil fruit powers of the Moa Moa Fruit, and is a powerful Haki user!
Burndy Worldused to be similar to Luffy, who dreamed of adventuring freely with his companions, before he lost the ability to trust them after a harsh betrayal.
Luffy’s finishing move against Burndy is supposed to be a “must-see” for fans. Just how much will Luffy, still half-way through his training with Silvers Rayleigh, grow during this encounter?
For the fans who are aware of the current events happening in the manga, a “certain someone” is expected to appear for the first time in the anime.
Fans will also get to see how Luffy acquired Haki, according to the source.
The special is directed by Naoyuki Itou, with Kōdai Watanabe serving as animation director, and will air Aug. 30.

Putain!
#308 169
Ouais arrête de faire ton pessimiste San.

Et un interview du producteur assistant de 3D2Y :
he official One Piece website has released a special interview with the assistant producer of the upcoming “3D2Y” anime special, Tomosuke Teramoto.
What follows are a compilation of Teramoto’s answer based on Kappei Yamaguchi’s questions and comments, so keep in mind that while the contents can be taken as such, they’re not direct quotes!
Q: Until last year the 2 hour specials were part of the “Episode Of” series, right? Nami, Luffy and last year even Merry I believe. This time you’re changing directions to “3D2Y?”
A: We used to work on stuff like the Episode of Nami or Merry but this time we started off from the idea that we wanted to try something new in that we wanted to work on a part that wasn’t made clear in the series itself and to which we could add Luffy’s 2 year “3D2Y” period.
And so we exchanged ideas amongst each other on how we could make it rival the “Episode of” series, and with a bit of luck maybe even surpass it.
The “Episode Of” series has its good parts, but we wanted to make a special episode with an “original story.” We thought about it a lot but the producers and script writers came to the idea that nothing had yet been pictured from Luffy’s 2-year training period. We then asked the people in charge at Fuji TV and Shueisha and had meetings to start the first stage of the production process.
After asking Oda-sensei if he was okay with the idea we had, we got his approval, and since it’s appearing on Saturday night prime time, it was decided to make it into a story revolving around Luffy.
Q: If it’s a Luffy centered story, then what about the other Straw Hats?
A: This one’s a Luffy-centered story, but Usopp and the others will also be making an appearance!
But as I mentioned before, the story this time starts from the point where Luffy starts his training, when Luffy was in a state where it wasn’t sure if he’d be able to get over the death of Ace at the Paramount War. After reminding himself that he’s still got his crew mates, the 2-year training with Rayleigh begins and then the original character becomes important to see how he’ll get over Ace’s death.
Q: Oh, A new character?
A: The new character’s name is Burndy World and was drawn by Oda!
He’s one of the prisoners who escaped from Impel Down’s level 6. We can’t reveal a detailed drawing of World just yet, but his back was shown in the main visual (for the 3D2Y special). World’s a very strong enemy who’s going to be getting in Luffy’s way, so while Luffy’s overcoming Ace’s death and thinking of his crew, World’s going to be antagonizing him. And this time we experienced the difficulties of an original anime episode: deciding on whether to write a story related to the original work or one independent from it.
So we asked Oda to draw “the biggest enemy ever” World’s design and to have him look at the script.
Q: Since it starts during the Paramount war there’s a lot of characters going to make an appearance; Kizaru, Akainu, etc… it’s really just like one exuberant “festival!” But talking about One Piece, one of the high points are its action scenes, so what about for this special episode?
A: To make up for the parts where the Straw Hats aren’t appearing, instead there’s some other uncommon characters that are going to be participating in the episode.
Right! The guest characters appearing this time are amazing!
And there’s (also) a lot of action scene highlights this time!
Because of Luffy’s two-year training, one of the must-see parts of the special is the gradual process of acquiring the Armament Haki during battle, as well as battling Hancock, who hasn’t really been portrayed fighting for long periods of time.
Q: And Buggy’s also working hard this time, right?
A: Right! Buggy’s really a character that doesn’t sit still. The main part of the story is Luffy and World but Buggy’s going to liven up the story quite a bit. In order to bring out that “Party Mood” Oda-sensei talked about, Buggy and Hancock will be playing an active role in particular.
Also, the Straw Hat crew will be appearing a bit each, but besides that, their respective voice actors all helped doing the animal voices et cetera, so….
Q: And in the end?
A: Right! There’s also a surprise character making an appearance at the very end.
Yamaguchi: It really feels somewhat like a different world from the “One Piece” we see in the original story. Definitely take a look! After you’ve seen this special episode you might feel different when watching One Piece.

Burndy :

Et ses hommes :
https://one-piece.com/news/detail/20140818_1251

The Old man is: Byōjack
The brains, and vice-captain, of the World Pirates and older brother of Burndy. Using a network of all sorts of transponder snails, he has kept an eye on the information surrounding Burndy’s imprisonment and quickly relayed it on to the other crewmates when he escaped. He has a body that’s weak and fragile from sickness and sits on Burndy’s shoulder, and his fighting strength is practically inexistent.
The fish man is: Sébastian
One of World’s surviving crewmates. A Wotan (Half fishman and half giant) and from the Sebastiscus marmoratus fish species — thus his name. He plays the role of the gatekeeper/janitor/porter of the Growseade Lost his sight from all the battles he’s been in and wears sunglasses.
Tamago's brother is: Gairam
One of World’s surviving crewmate. He holds theCube Cube Devil Fruit and can make anything into a cube and stack it. He lived in hiding with the other members while Burndy was imprisoned and developed the Growseade (クローセアデ) (the ship). He is also the engineer of the left wing and fighter of the ship’s right wing.
The woman is: Naichin
One of World’s surviving crewmates. She is the female doctor and engineer of the ship’s left wing. She is a fighter oin her own right, and developed Kampou (eastern Medicine) Kempō fighting style with her attacks’ names coming from all sorts of medicine. If the effects of her medicine would wear out she’s return to looking like her real age…

#308 645
